The University Advising Center's Pre-law advisor offers 2 workshops on writing the personal statement, a part of the law school admission process. The purpose of the workshop is to teach how to write an effective personal statement. The workshop will cover the purpose of the personal statement, the crafting  and development of a central idea, and the construction of an outline to help with focus, coherence, and flow. The workshop will feature one or two scenarios, sample essays used to illustrate the principles of good writing. Students may attend either one or both. For those who attend at least one of the workshops, I will hold a 1 hour, one-on-one meeting to help refine the work
begun in the workshop.

To RSVP for one or both workshops, please send your request to Arnelle Douglas, aa4633@wayne.edu.
