Wayne State is committed to supporting students at every level on their path to graduation, and the university is seeking feedback to better understand how we can continue to help students succeed.

On Feb. 10, select freshmen and seniors will receive an email requesting their participation in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). NSSE will help WSU survey the effectiveness of teaching practices and how students perceive and interact with others on campus.

The survey, which is voluntary and confidential, will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes and include mostly multiple-choice questions. Students are asked to complete the NSSE as soon as possible. NSSE will be conducted by Wayne State's Testing, Evaluation and Research Services.

NSSE is designed to capture the experience of students who are at the beginning of their educational experience, as well as those nearing graduation. The survey will ask questions about students' experiences with faculty, academic advisors and support services, in addition to their courses and study habits. NSSE will be followed by the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement in March.

"We've done a lot to create a culture of student success here on campus," said Monica Brockmeyer, Senior Associate Provost for Student Success. "This survey will help Wayne State identify its progress and continue to make improvements."

Additional details about NSSE can be found at nsse.indiana.edu. For more details on the survey, please contact Laura Woodward at laurawoodward@wayne.edu.
