Celebrate Black History Month with OMSE: Participate in the Letters to Black Girls Project
This event is in the past.
Detroit, MI 48202
Black girls are under constant attack from racism and sexism. But they can survive. Better: They can thrive. Black women can help girls be healthy and whole if we approach them with love, honesty and vulnerability. There is no more powerful ally for a black girl than a black woman.
The Letters to Black Girls Project’s goal is “to inspire black girls through feminist, anti-racist, anti-respectability politics and pro-black letters from black women.” Share your experiences and words of encouragement with young girls and teens by coming to write a letter on one of the three dates for this event. The Office of Multicultrual Student Engagement (OMSE) will submit your letter to the project.
