Title: Music and Mathematics

Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss the mathematics of tuning systems. We will start by considering the tuning system of Pythagoras of Samos and will move through the ages toward a description of modern tuning systems including equal temperament. This talk is intended for all undergraduate students who have a love of math and/or music.
