Please join College of Education Dean Anita G. Welch for a casual evening of connection and one-on-one conversation about the school’s future of diversity and dynamism that enhances the educational experience and provides parallel access to cultural, entrepreneurial and service opportunities.

Anita G. Welch joined the College of Education in 2019 as dean and looks forward to positioning the college to that of a local, state, national and global leader in urban education, inclusion and social justice.

Welch earned her Ph.D. in 2007 from the University of Kansas, where she was an adjunct professor of Teacher Education before holding positions as an assistant and associate professor at North Dakota State University. She also holds a master’s in secondary science education from Pittsburgh State University, a master’s in medieval studies from the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor’s in English from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Welch’s research is focused on mid-career faculty advancement, post-secondary teaching standards and cross-cultural studies of STEM education. She has more than 22 years of experience teaching in higher education, including courses in educational research and statistics, curriculum design, and instructional strategies with emphasis on the use of educational technology in the classroom
