Please join us for a presentation by Dr. Janet Hankin, professor of sociology at Wayne State University. Dr. Hankin will discuss her research regarding infant mortality rates in the City of Detroit and her participation in the Infant Mortality Taskforce to lower these mortality rates. The presentation will cover how socioeconomic status, race, sex, gender, and disability affect infant mortality, and how the Taskforce successfully lowered these rates using an intersectional approach.
