People who use opioids have a high rate of being involved in the criminal/legal system. This increases risk for overdose and viral or bacterial infections. During this webinar, Maya Doe-Simkins will provide an overview of Harm Reduction, explain how Harm Reduction practices help save lives and reduce overall harms. We will explore opportunities to embed evidence-based public health and lifesaving practices and some promising practices in various components of the legal system. Maya will also discuss strategies for existing infrastructures to promote and accelerate access to life-saving resources in our communities..
