Alumnus and Community Developer Brandon Ivory shares industry insights through a non-traditional lens of Macro Social Work. Collaboration with residents, city government, community partners and stakeholders helps build sustainable communities through addressing quality of life issues identified by the community.

Social workers have the transformative potential to change individual lives, to improve systems, to expand equity and advance social justice.

Social workers’ roles have grown to include crisis management as well as roles of empowerment and advocacy. Social workers can empower communities by encouraging individuals to take an active role in shaping social services, providing education programs and enabling long-term economic independence.

Share an evening with ’00 alumnus Brandon Ivory and learn how he can empower you to positively impact and empower communities to progressively live, work, educate and play. Brandon sits on the Wayne State Alumni Association Board of Directors and leverages his expertise to help realize the value of economic empowerment.
