The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce that the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC) has been re-funded by the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health for five years (2021-2026) with expanded opportunities for pilot funding and mentoring.

The MADRC is a three university partnership (UM, MSU and Wayne State) with Henry Paulson, MD (UM Neurology) as the PI, Ana Daugherty, Ph.D. an MADRC past-mentee (Psychology and IOG) and Peter Lichtenberg, Ph.D. as the Wayne State site PI. The theme of the Wayne State center is Non-Amyloid causes of Alzheimer’s Disease. The MADRC focuses on a broad array of age-related dementias. The MADRC will support projects across the spectrum of disciplines from epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences to engineering, medicine and cellular and molecular sciences.

To learn more about the opportunities for Developmental project funding and Alzheimer's research mentorship at MADRC, please register above for an informational meeting via Zoom. The meeting will be held on October 19, 2021 from 1 to 2 p.m. The Zoom meeting information will be emailed to all registrants prior to October 19th.
