Student organization Future Librarians for Inclusivity and Diversity and School of Information Sciences faculty member Kim Schroeder will host a Career Advising Panel lunch hour over Zoom.

In order to support LIS students and professionals from excluded and marginalized backgrounds, we have asked four WSU School of Information Sciences alumni who share these identities and perspectives to discuss their experiences navigating through the LIS field.

All our welcome to attend!

We will be hosting:

  • Sheila Garcia; Professional Programs Liaison Librarian at Grand Valley State University
  • Nakenya Lewis-Yarbrough; the Youth Services Librarian at the Bellville Public Library
  • Darlene Johnson-Bignotti; Library faculty member at Oakland Community College
  • Rebecca Powell; Research Specialist for the State of Michigan

If you have questions you would like these alumni to address during the panel session you can send them in advance to Selena Aguilera @ fw0363@wayne.edu.
