Alice Elizabeth Lamont passed away on November 20, 2019 at the age 91. Professor Lamont served as a full-time faculty member in that role mentored numerous faculty members, students and academic staff. She served in a leadership role as Coordinator of the MSW program assisting curricular changes, reaffirmations and self-studies to ensure the School of Social Work was in a position to prepare excellent social workers to serve our communities. In 2001 and after her retirement, the Alice Lamont Endowed Scholarship was established to provide assistance to students in financing their education in the School of Social Work. This fund is intended to honor Alice Lamont and her contributions to the Wayne State University School of Social Work.

The Wayne State University School of Social invites you to join us in honoring Alice and sharing memories with one another of our experiences with her.
