Agile in the Academy

The Wayne State School of Social Work Center for Social Work Research invites full-time SSW faculty, post-doctoral fellows and staff to join us for a special workshop series "Agile in the Academy" hosted by Erin Randall of Ad Meliora.
Space is limited (15 registrants) and registration is required by February 9, 2022. Attendance at all three workshops is preferred. If you are unable to attend all three workshops, please register then advise Neva Nahan (firstname.lastname@example.org) which of the workshops you will not be attending. One Zoom link will be used for all three workshops, which will be provided via email on February 10th.
Part 1: Agile - High Performance Teams
February 11, 2022 from 11 am - 2 pm
What makes for a high performance team? Learn how agile principles (e.g., valuing interactions, working research, community collaboration, responding to change) support a high performance team.
Part 2: Scrum - Meeting Short Deadlines
February 18, 2022 from 11 am - 2 pm
Have a grant or publication deadline coming up and want to make sure you meet it? Learn the scrum method of getting tasks done, refining along the way and doing a retrospective with the team to see what went well.
Part 3: Breaking Down Tasks
February 25, 2022 from 11 am - 2 pm
Learn how to break down research tasks by writing user stories, coming to agreement on how much effort it will take to do the work, what tasks are ready to start, and when the tasks are done.
