Accessibility Committee Virtual Student Focus Group
This event is in the past.
RSVP is closed.
The Wayne State School of Social Work is working toward becoming a more inclusive and accessible place to learn and work. To this end, our Ad Hoc Disability Committee will be gathering data to identify accessibility barriers and solutions. We will be holding focus groups in November and conducting a survey in the winter semester. If you have an identified disability or are in the process of being diagnosed with one, we hope you choose to share your experiences with us and help us brainstorm solutions to inform this important work.
What will we discuss?
We will be asking you about how the SSW has supported or challenged your ability as a person with a disability to access the environment, feel like you are reaching your potential at work/school, and have work/school-life balance. We will ask about policies, practices, climate and culture, and physical environment in the SSW and, as it pertains to your work/learning conditions, the University. We will also brainstorm solutions based on your ideas, experiences you’ve had working/studying in other organizations.
This virtual session is for all current WSU Social Work students and will take place at the regular 6pm Social Work Student Alliance meeting. Zoom information will be sent after RSVP.
