Objectives: 

1.  Explain how to assess capacity for consent in patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

2.  Analyze how to discuss issues of dating, sexuality, and sexual safety with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

3.  Explore the ethics of consent and decision-making with regard to this patient population.
