Join the Linguistics deparment's colloqium presented by Dr. Shell Scott on "Unearthing, Interpreting, and Collecting American Runic Inscriptions".
Scott Shell received his MA in Linguistics from WSU in 2014 and his PhD in Germanic Linguistics from
the University of California, Berkeley in 2020. His research is dedicated to Germanic historical linguistics,
runology, and semiotics. He is currently involved in collecting and analyzing American runic objects with
Loraine Jensen, founder of the American Association for Runic Studies (AARS), and Professor Henrik
Williams of Uppsala University.
