The Wayne State University School of Social Work is hosting "Living through Tragedies Restorative Circle: School, Self-Care, and the MSU Tragedy".
As a SSW community, we have many direct and indirect ties with tragedy. The tragedy that transpired at MSU only a year after the tragedy at Oxford High School is very close to home for many of us. Meanwhile, violence and hardship affect us in many areas of our lives and that of the clients and communities we serve. We are offering Restorative Circles to students, faculty, and staff to process this collective grief, generate self-care plans, and consider how we can build our own community to continue the ongoing fight against violence and related threats to human well-being. Participants are encouraged to be open and honest about their perspectives.
To implement Circles effectively, capacity is capped at 20 people for each event. If the Circle you want to attend is full, please email Kess Ballentine at hj1448@wayne.edu to be added to the waitlist.
*Participants must have their cameras on at this virtual event.
Circles will be available in both virtual (this event) and in-person formats.
