TOPIC: "Hormonal Treatments for Major Depressive Disorder"
Objectives:
1. Demonstrate working knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal/Thyroid/Adrenal axis.
2. Identify common clinical signs and symptoms of the most common endocrine disorders in the psychiatric patient.
3. Select appropriate lab tests, and imaging protocols to evaluate patients for suspected endocrine.
4. Demonstrate the ability to analyze pertinent findings to inform treatment decisions.
5. Discuss the role of treating endocrine disorders as a psychiatrist.
6. Apply current standards of care to the treatment of endocrine disorders in depressed patients.
