Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Speaker Series: Using the Textbook, Urban Health: A Practical Application for Clinical Based Learning to Reinforce Lessons in Urban Health
Urban Health: A Practical Application for Clinical Based Learning is a free Open Education Resource (OER) that uses a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to provide a consistent exploration into the "lived experience" of urban, inner-city patients and healthcare providers. By acknowledging the “lived experience” of urban patients and how disparities impact their daily lives, we can begin to build more effective patient-provider relationships. This textbook aids in providing a platform for readers to have open discourse about urban health, healthcare disparities and interprofessional collaboration to achieve better patient outcomes. This session, applicable to all health-related disciplines, in co-facilitated by Cynthera McNeill, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-C, FAANP (Assistant Professor, College of Nursing); Umeika Stephens, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC (Assistant Professor, College of Nursing); and Tara Walker, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC (Assistant Professor, College of Nursing).
