The division of Academic Student Affairs and Global Engagement is pleased to welcome Mr. Zhao Jian, the Consul General of China in Chicago, for a special presentation on the relationship between the United States and China. 

Consul General Zhao Jian started his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 1993. He served as the Counselor of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs in the Ministry. As a career diplomat, he was the Counselor in the Embassy of China in Australia, and the Consul General of China in Melbourne. In 2019, Mr. Zhao Jian was appointed as the Consul General of China in Chicago.
