Please join us for our CLEAR series of webinars.  This seminar will be presented by Dr. Quan Lu, Professor of Environmental Genetics and Physiology, Environmental Health, T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, on "Extracellular vesicles in environmental health and disease."

The seminar will take place via Zoom on Thursday May 4th, 2023, at 12:30 pm Eastern. A Zoom meeting link will be emailed upon webinar registration.

Dr. Lu studies molecular mechanisms underlying complex gene-environment interactions in multigenic human diseases such as asthma and neurodegeneration, focusing on the emerging role of extracellular vesicles in disease pathogenesis, prevention, and therapeutics. His current work surrounds his discovery of a novel intrinsic mechanism known as ARRDC1-Mediated Microvesicles (ARMMs), which plays a key role in intercellular signaling and inter-tissue communication and holds potential as a platform for therapeutic delivery into diseased cells.

The Center for Leadership in Environmental Awareness and Research (CLEAR) at Wayne State University is funded by the National Institutes of Health's Superfund Research Program (SRP Grant P42ES030991) to detect and mitigate the effects of volatile organic chemicals on human and environmental health.
