WSU Freedom Walkers- Walk Towards Freedom
This event is in the past.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Earlier this year during the Wayne State University Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we recognized the 60th anniversary of his first delivering the iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in Detroit. This month, the Detroit Branch NAACP will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1963 Freedom Walk down Woodward Avenue that preceded Dr. King’s speech in Detroit. This event will bring thousands of people together who hold social justice, equity, and the advancement of all people high on their list of priorities.
We are seeking students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends to join the WSU team of walkers to create a sea of green amongst the thousands of participants at this historic event. If you would like to participate, please register by June 15.
