In recent years public demand has spurred innovation of crisis response systems with mental health clinicians and peer support specialists. Mobile crisis and co-response models have been rapidly expanding across the state of Michigan, with broad variance of workforce, accessibility, continuity of care, governance, and available metrics. Crisis response teams operate on local and county levels, with limited ways to share insights and best practices.

In response, Center for Behavioral Health and Justice at the Wayne State University School of Social Work is initiating a Crisis Response Community of Practice to bring together partners of crisis response teams across the state. The goal is to provide connections between crisis response teams to share ideas, best practices, barriers, solutions, stressors, stories, and lessons learned.
