The Social Work Disability Justice Coalition celebrates its first year as a Registered Student Organization (RSO) by honoring the memory of Judy Heumann, "Mother of the Disability Rights Movement (https://judithheumann.com/)

The Disability Justice Coalition is Wayne State's first community of its kind at the School of Social Work and serves under the Social Work Student Alliance. Our concerns for the Disability Community are on campus and beyond. 

Students, alumni, faculty, administrators, staff, community partners, allies, families, providers, funders, colleagues, employers, friends, and stakeholders are all invited. 

Meet and mingle with your like-minded colleagues! 

The City of Detroit and Wayne County is growing a robust and vital Disability Community, to which the Coalition reaches out. We collaborate on advocacy, educational, intersectional, and activism initiatives to improve accessibility, mobility, equity, and inclusion for ALL
