Always a Warrior: In-Depth Conversation with the President of the Medical Alumni Association

Rebecca Klisz-Hulbert, M.D. ’04, Res. ’07, Fel. ‘09, President of the Medical Alumni Association will discuss ways in which faculty and students can engage with the Medical Alumni Association to maximize educational opportunities,  professional development, networks and impact.

Learning Objectives

As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • understand the purpose, function and goals of the Medical Alumni Association
  • describe the mechanisms by which the Medical Alumni Association impacts students' medical education
  • discuss the benefits of being engaged with the Medical Alumni Association
  • identify teaching and scholarly activity opportunities to partner with the Medical Alumni Association

Guest Speaker:

Dr. Klisz-Hulbert is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University. She is a triple graduate of Wayne State University (medical school, psychiatry residency, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship), where she is currently serves as the president of the Medical Alumni Association. Her other roles include fellowship program director and Vice Chair for Child and Adolescent Liaison Services. She is active in several national and regional professional organizations and is a Distinguished Fellow of both AACAP and APA. Dr. Klisz-Hulbert is active in supervising, educating, and mentoring CAP fellows, psychiatry residents, medical students, and graduate students as well as other clinicians and educators. In addition, she provides clinical care to children, adolescents and adults at a university outpatient clinic, and consults to a state psychiatric hospital and numerous school districts.
