CLEAR Workshop: From Science to Policy
1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Center for Leadership in Environmental Awareness and Research (CLEAR) is pleased to invite the campus community to a workshop, "From Science to Policy," on November 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Changes in policy are a combination of strong policy and pitch. This workshop will teach you how to engage policy makers and position your research for implementation and adoption. Think about "climate change" vs "global warming" or AC vs DC sound science is winning out in both, but implementation was stymied by the political discussions around their innovation filtered through the lens of the messengers. Economic development theories like the “creative class,” “Urban Renewal,” or “Green New Deal” all led to fundamental shifts in policy based on the ideas of academics though their implementation was not always aligned with the base theories. In this workshop we will show you how to package your research and how to share it with policy makers.
