Objectives:
1. Review current diagnostic criteria for the fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
2. Describe the challenges involved in and the importance of determining levels and patterns of prenatal alcohol exposure associated with clinically significant adverse effects.
3. Present new data documenting levels and patterns of prenatal alcohol exposure associated with clinically significant adverse effects on cognitive function.
