Findings from the Prenatal Stress Study: A Multi-Site Longitudinal Study of Mothers and Babies in Michigan
Presenter: Cecilia Martinez-Torteya, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor, Zero to Thrive, Department of Psychiatry, Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan
Dr. Martinez-Torteya's presentation will outline select findings from the Prenatal Stress Study, exploring the impact of interpersonal violence and other stressors on maternal well-being and infant outcomes, and potential mechanisms of risk transmission, including HPA axis dysregulation. Her study seeks to evaluate whether the timing of stressors impacts maternal and child outcomes, as well as moderators that shape resilience in the context of adversity.
