Abstract: Relativistic heavy ion collisions provide us a rare opportunity to study the QCD phase diagram. This necessitates the understanding of the  deposition and transportation of the baryon conserved charge in these collisions.  I will present our recent phenomenological studies within the framework of relativistic hydrodynamics in this direction. I will further elucidate how several observables based on electric charge splitting that have been proposed and measured as signals of the initial large electromagnetic field in these collisions receive strong background contributions from the physics of baryon stopping, leaving open their interpretation.
