The Wayne State University School of Social Work invites you to join us for a special reception honoring former faculty member Lois Garriott. This event will also include the dedication of artwork donated to the school in Lois' name.
Lois Garriott earned her bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Michigan and her masters of social work from Wayne State University. She then went on to work at various mental health agencies, became an adjunct lecturer and practicum liaison at the WSU School of Social Work, had her own private practice, and most recently worked with the Roseville Sobriety Court. Some of her greatest achievements include being a social worker, educator, therapist and mentor. Mental health projects she was involved with included a quilting project that supported women moving out of homelessness and a substance abuse program in which Lois participated by providing bracelets in celebration of the transition to sobriety.
