Objectives:

1.  Identify instances of provider countertransference and how it impacts the physician-patient relationship. 

2.  Describe strategies for managing countertransference, with a particular focus on treating challenging patients.

3.  Discuss methods that providers can use to protect their own and patients with being while in active clinical environments.
