The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art, Art History, and Design is pleased to present Unseen Domains at the Art Department Gallery, March 1 through April 5, 2024. An opening reception will be held on Friday, March 1, 5-8PM. This exhibition features artworks by graduating WSU MFA students who practice in a variety of disciplines and approaches. Exhibiting artists include Megan G. DeShields, Taylor Gamlin, Lolo Katz Nosanchuk, and Robin Jourdan

Each piece exhibited is a testament to the artist's dedication to reclaiming relationships with nature, faith, and community through a range of artistic expressions. Megan's hollow paper pulp reliefs and cast-iron relics hold sacred space for contemplation. Taylor's powerful projections and vinyl timelines challenge the canon of American graphic design and culture. Robin's digital and fibers-based exploration of nature and subtle energy in the Great Lakes and Detroit River aims to inspire and captivate. Lolo’s interactive video installations envision alternative realms and test the boundaries of a permeable and collaborative approach to artmaking. These complementary bodies of work offer the viewer an opportunity to experience and witness new possibilities of perceiving the world.

Additional programming includes a gallery talk with Robin Jourdan on Saturday, March 2 at 1pm; and a closing gallery talk with Megan G. DeShields, Taylor M. Gamlin and Lolo Katz Nosanchuk  on Friday, April 5, 6-7:30PM. Performances, workshops, and additional events will be held throughout the exhibition.
