The goal of this interactive WSU School of Social Work Curriculum and Instruction Day session is to support full- and part-time instructors and academic staff in integrating restorative practices into their regular practice through knowledge reinforcement, goal setting, and skill development. You will receive a copy of the School of Social Work’s newly developed Restorative Practices Classroom Toolkit and guidance on how to use it.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Justify why integrating restorative practices in undergraduate and graduate level social work classes will support social workers in training in achieving social work competencies (CSWE, 2022).
  2. Identify the protocol for accessing support in using restorative practices in their teaching.
  3. Use the SSW Restorative Practices Classroom Toolkit tool to evaluate their own current competency with restorative practices and set goals for application in the classroom.
  4. Design an original, proactive circle for a class they are currently teaching.

Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.  The formal program will begin at 1:00 p.m.

RSVP's are required by February 16, 2024.
