The College of Nursing's Office of Health Research presents "Navigating NIH Successfully & Engaging with Program Officials" presented by Nancy Jones, PhD, Health Scientist Administrator, National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities.
Please join us for an informative virtual Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, March 6, from noon to 1:00 p.m. We are thrilled to host Dr. Jones for her presentation on how to effectively communicate and develop relationships with an NIH Program Officer. Dr. Jones will give us an overview of NIMHD and how to align your project with the scientific priorities of NIH Institutes and Centers.
Dr. Nancy Jones is a Program Officer at NIMHD in Community Health and Population Sciences. Dr. Jones's research interests include the ethical, legal, and social ramifications that research, medicine, and healthcare have on underserved populations. Dr. Jones's background spans basic and translational biomedical research; medical ethics; legal and social implications of research, healthcare, and policy; and design of curricula and scientific programs. Dr. Jones graduated with a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and earned her PhD in Biochemistry from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She then went on to receive an MA in Bioethics from Trinity International University in 2003. Dr. Jones joined NIMHD in 2012 and served as co-chair on the Etiology of Health Disparities for the Science Visioning as well as several trans-NIH committee on bioethics.
