SOTL Speaker Series with Jazlin Ebenezer: Exploring Students' Explanations
This event is in the past.
This presentation, featuring Jazlin Ebenezer, the Charles H. Gershensen Distinguished Faculty Fellow and professor of Science Education in the College of Education, demonstrates how to explore, categorize, and use students' explanations of a natural phenomenon such as salt in water. The phenomenographic descriptive categories or the outcome space serve as curriculum frameworks to develop scientific explanations through relational conceptual change inquiry (Ebenezer et al., 2010). The project aligns with Michigan Science Curriculum Frameworks (MDE, 2023). This research was supported in part by the WSU Educational Development Grant.
