Title: Bridgeland stability conditions in algebraic geometry

Abstract: In 1962 Mumford introduced the notion of slope stability of vector bundles on smooth projective complex curves. It turns out that all vector bundles can be built from slope stable ones, so this lead to huge progress in their classification. In this talk we will introduce Bridgeland stability which generalises this concept to any triangulated category (the stable objects will again be the building blocks). We will overview some applications in algebraic geometry, and see some concrete examples on the derived category of coherent sheaves of some curves and surfaces.
