Labor@Wayne, The Fraser Center for Workplace Issues, The Irving Bluestone Lectureship on Workplace Issues, Higher Ed Labor United, the Wayne State Department of History, and the Walter P. Reuther Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs invite staff, students, and community members to attend a guest lecture by Dr. Joseph A McCartin, professor of history at Georgetown University and Executive Director of the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor.

McCartin is the author of books such as Collision Course: Ronald Reagan, the Air Traffic Controllers, and the Strike that Changed America, and Labor in America: A History (9th Ed). He has also been the recipient of prestigious awards from the Sunrise Project, the Ford Foundation, the US Department of Labor, and others.

Dr. McCartin's talk will begin at 4pm and end at 5pm and will be followed by a light reception/meet and greet with light refreshments from 5pm to 6pm. McCartin's lecture is titled: "Labor Spring: Higher Ed, Union Revival, and Labor History at a Crossroads." The event is free and open to the public.
