Virtual Brown Bag: Internships
This event is in the past.
This year the Virtual Brown Bag (VBB) series is focused on High-Impact Practices (HIPs). Teaching and learning practices are designated as HIPs based on evidence of significant educational benefits to students who participate in them – including and especially those from demographic groups historically underserved by higher education. This session will focus on internships, including how Wayne State University’s Career Services Office and faculty can help facilitate and connect students to potential opportunities. We will be joined by Shawn Pewitt, director of Career Services; Catherine Cuckovich, assistant professor of teaching for the Mike Ilitch School of Business; and Harold Geistman, associate professor of teaching in the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice, who will share their experiences working with students in developing and maintaining internships. The VBB will have 15-20 minutes of recorded interactive instruction and examples, followed by time for you to ask individual questions. Feel free to enjoy lunch while you learn.
