The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs is pleased to announce that Emily Holl, Director of the Sibling Support Project is coming to Michigan this summer to lead a Sibshop Facilitator Training. This opportunity is open to parents, caregivers, educators, community partners and local health department staff. During the two day event, participants learn about sibs' lifelong concerns, find out how to organize a local Sibshop, and experience what a Sibshop is all about as they join us and a group of young brothers and sisters for a demonstration Sibshop.
Thursday, Aug 15th: Introduction to Sibshops - Anyone who would like to learn more about sibling issues, but is not interested in running a Sibshop, should attend day one.
Friday, Aug 16th: Facilitator Training - Anyone who is interested in becoming a certified Sibshop facilitator should attend both days.
Following the training, the Family Center will be sharing information about how to apply for a grant to run a Sibshop in Michigan communities!
