The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art, Art History, and Design is pleased to present its annual Tri-County High School ExhibitionNovember 1 through 22, 2024 at the Art Department Gallery, Wayne State University (WSU). An opening reception with an awards presentation will be held on Friday, November 1, 5-8PM. Members of the department will be on hand to celebrate students’ creative achievements.
This exhibition features approximately 85 selected artworks created by high school students from Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties. At the opening reception, four awards will be presented to students for their outstanding artworks in the exhibition. The awards First Place, Second Place, and Third Place are selected by this year’s guest juror Laura Foxman, Associate Professor Interior Design.Additional awards include an Alumni Selection Award, selected by artist and alum Andre Barker (BFA, 22) and a Teacher Award.
Artworks by students from the following high schools are included in this year’s exhibition: Bloomfield Hills High School, Cass Technical High School, Dearborn High School, Detroit Country Day, Detroit School of the Arts, Edwin Denby Technical and Preparatory High School, Henry Ford II High School, International Academy, International Academy - East, John Glenn High School, Lake Orion High School, Mercy High School, Mohegan High School, Mumford High School, Novi High School, Oakland Christian School, Romeo High School, and Sterling Heights High School.
