Please join us for a speaker event with Judge Mark Boonstra of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judge Boonstra will be discussing the recent amendment to Michigan Court Rule 1.109, which requires judges to "use the individual’s name, the designated salutation or personal pronouns, or other respectful means that are not inconsistent with the individual’s designated salutation or personal pronouns when addressing" litigants in their courtrooms.
