Dance the night away with Detroit's #1 Best Cover Band – Vavoom – and help older adults protect their health. Every dollar you spend helps older adults in Detroit improve their health through screenings, information sessions with experts, and research on aging.

Older African Americans are vulnerable. They have higher rates of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. The Healthier Black Elders Center provides free workshops throughout the city on healthy aging, complete with subject-matter experts, health screenings, research opportunities and a nutritious lunch. Members of the Healthier Black Elders Center increase their health literacy, socialize regularly and have opportunities to volunteer for research projects to improve the health of diverse groups of older adults.

Move and groove at the Senior & Caregiver Resource Network fundraiser on November 7, while your contribution supports better health for Detroit’s most vulnerable older adults.

Cost is $85 per ticket, dinner, drinks and entertainment included. Tickets provide funds for the non-profit Healthier Black Elders Center to host 1,000 older adults in 2025. The Center is a program of the Institute of Gerontology at Wayne State University.
