The Department of Anthropology and the CLAS marketing team are coordinating a promo video shoot with the film crew for the Detroit Pistons basketball team.
The Pistons are celebrating the legacy of Malcolm X (aka "Detroit Red") and recognizing his connections to Wayne State as part of their Black History Month programming in February. They will be shooting a promotional video in State Hall 101 in the hopes of recreating the energy of the audience in that very room when Malcolm spoke to WSU students in State Hall in 1963.
We are looking to recruit current students, staff, and faculty to attend and be "extras" in the audience. Extras must wear all black, unbranded clothing. Seating in the lecture hall will be allocated on a first-come basis. Filming begins at 6pm, so plan to show up in advance.
The promo video will be aired during the Piston's (and possibly WSU) media campaigns in February, including commercials and promo videos during Detroit Pistons home games!
This could be your Hollywood debut - come join us for the fun!
