History Degrees in Action: A Conversation with Matthew Hoerauf
Wondering what you can do with your history degree?
Join the Department of History for a discussion with alumnus Matthew Hoeauf on careers in nonprofit management. Matt Hoerauf is a Development Manager for Wayne County's Department of Health, Human, and Veteran Services, with over twenty years' experience working in the social sector prior to his current position. Fundraising, grantmaking, writing, research, project management, and relationship building have been key parts of that journey. He was a grantmaker for five years with the Skillman Foundation, focused on issues including youth safety, entrepreneurship, and child well-being in schools.
He has a master's degree in history from Wayne State University. Additionally, he has served on boards, committees, and workshops pertaining to summer enrichment, safety, chronic absence, basic needs, Black well-being, and Native American rights.
