The 32nd Owens Lecture, an annual public lecture hosted by the Department of Mathematics at Wayne State University, will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 110, Purdy/Kresge Library.
 
This year, we are honored to welcome Professor Chi-Wang Shu from Brown University, a world-renowned expert in applied mathematics. Professor Shu will deliver a lecture on numerical methods for hyperbolic equations and applications, a topic of great interest to anyone engaged in mathematics and its applications across scientific and engineering disciplines.
 
Following the lecture, we invite you to join us for coffee and snacks in Room 1146 of the Faculty and Administration Building, where you’ll have the opportunity to continue conversations and connect with colleagues.
