The James and Patrica Anderson College of Engineering will be inducting 168 graduating students into the Professional Society Induction & Order of The Engineer.
What is the Professional Society Induction Ceremony?
Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Computer Science students are recognized in a formal ceremony. This is an optional ceremony and is separate from Commencement. Students receiving their BS Engineering degree in BME, ChE, CEE CS, ECE, ET, ISE and ME are eligible.
- The Ring Ceremony is the public induction of candidates into the Order of the Engineer, during which the engineer candidates formally accept the Obligation of an Engineer and receive a stainless-steel ring to be worn as a symbol on the little finger of the working hand in addition to a orange stole.
- Computer Science graduates formally accept The Pledge of the Computing Professional and receive a pinned gold-colored stole.
- Engineering Technology division students formally accept the pledge of the Professional Order of Engineering Technology and receive a pinned red colored stole.
