Virtual Book Club: "Entangled"
Join Wayne State University School of Social Work Professor Amy Watson and fellow scholars scholars Michael Compton, M.D., and Leah Pope, for an engaging conversation about their new book, Entangled, which explores how individuals with chronic mental illness are routinely—and needlessly—caught in America’s misdemeanor system, with little benefit to themselves or the broader public. The discussion will be moderated by Ryan Levi, producer of the podcast Tradeoffs.
Several members of the CBHJ community contributed to Entangled, including Jessica Gaskin, M.S.W., Kaitlyn Kok, B.S., Erin Comartin, Ph.D., L.M.S.W., Hosanna Fukuzawa, M.S.W., and Leonard Swanson, M.S.W.

This event is presented by the Sozosei Foundation, which was established in 2019 as a philanthropic arm of Otsuka. The foundation's focus is to decriminalize mental illness and increase access to mental healthcare in order to eliminate the inappropriate use of jails and prisons for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in the United States.
