Social Justice & Community Wellness Tour ~ in the D at The Shrine of the Black Madonna
This local "Social Justice and Community Wellness Tour ~ in the D" — featuring author Dr. Mary Frances Phillips, Detroiter and author of Black Panther Woman: The Political and Spiritual Life of Ericak Huggins — will stop @ four to five Detroit locations. Centering well-being as core to social justice and social change work, the event aims to connect people in and between communities to engage the question of what it means to live a political and spiritual life. This will be achieved through a 2-hour program at each stop that uniquely bridges the practices of (a) reading as political education, (b) historically based community conversations, (c) mean-making through art, and (d) holistic wellness practices.
