Courageous Conversations: Reading into the Roots of Justice - Session #1
As part of our 90th Anniversary Call to Action, the Wayne State University School of Social Work is excited to host the first session of our new virtual book club series, Courageous Conversations: Reading into the Roots of Justice. This series will explore the roots of the social work profession through the lens of the Progressive Era, a time of sweeping change, bold ideas, and complex contradictions.
During Session 1, we will examine how reformers of the past shaped the systems we know today and how their legacies continue to influence our work. What did they get right? Where did they fail? Come ready to explore what progress really meant, who it served, and how those insights can guide our work moving forward.
Let’s learn from the past to reimagine our future, one courageous conversation at a time.
