Vision
Provide affordable transformative reproductive healthcare through solid basic science research, technology development, translational studies, clinical implementation, and public outreach and engagement.
Mission
To integrate researchers, clinicians, and educators of Academia with visionaries and entrepreneurs of Business to build Reproductive Technologies, Science, and Healthcare as The Life Science Initiative in the State of Michigan.
Goals
1) Embrace the idea of mixing research with entrepreneurship to facilitate scientific and clinical advancements in Reproductive/Stem Cell Biology leading to societal healthcare benefits and improved quality of life. Foster collaboration between Academic, Public, Private, and Venture entities to translate basic science discoveries into improved reproductive health for men and women.
2) Develop high quality products and services in Reproductive Healthcare that bring economic benefit to the State of Michigan. Establish Reproductive Sciences as the premier example of a Life Sciences Component that can infuse significant economic worth into the State of Michigan.
3) Mandate public engagement and education of reproductive health, family planning, stem cell biology through outreach at the high school, college, and adult level.
4) Enhance collaboration between Universities in the State of Michigan (UM, MSU, Wayne St, Central, Oakland/Beaumont, Western).
5) Be a working example of how clinicians, entrepreneurs, and scientist from across the state of Michigan can communicate and collaborate in today’s electronic/virtual world.
6) Work together with Technology Transfer, NCRC, and Local Venture Firms to stimulate industry partnerships, formation of Start-up companies, and foster incubation of transforming technologies that will enhance Reproductive Health and the advancement of Stem Cell Therapies.
7) Parcel the scientific landscape in Reproductive and Stem Cell Science amongst, and between, the numerous institutions in the State of Michigan, thus reducing competition between institutions for granting dollars, and simultaneously forming strong non-overlapping collaborations to enhance the overall totality of Reproductive Science and Health research and technological advances.
8) Develop MARTS as the dissemination hub for global reproductive health.
