Celebration of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Expansion
This event is in the past.
9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Join the Wayne State University Library System to celebrate a major expansion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Detroit on 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 at the David Adamany Undergraduate Library, where Wayne State will be presented a $15,000 check from the Government Employees Health Association (GEHA). This gift will triple the reach of the program by dramatically expanding Wayne State’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) initiative, which currently serves more than 160 Detroit children with free monthly books from birth to age 5.
Wayne State has partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for more than five years to promote reading among Wayne State’s zip codes. The program provides free, age-appropriate books monthly to children from birth to age 5, creating a foundation for lifelong learning.
